In Home Holy Communion
Holy Communion is a meal we share that unifies people and brings them together as the body of Christ. For this reason, we are not leading Holy Communion during our online worship services. Not everyone has access to a computer or internet, and to offer communion in this way would be divisive as members of our family are excluded from this holy meal that is meant to bring people together. In our Lutheran tradition, pastors are set apart to oversee and administer the sacraments. In this extraordinary time of quarantine during CO-VID19, the church has uplifted this as a way to share in this sacrament in this moment. Once this crisis has passed, we will return to our Lutheran best practice of the pastor's role in this sacrament.
You are welcome to administer the sacrament of Holy Communion in your home as an addition to any of our worships. If you would rather, you are also welcome to view this time as a fast from Holy Communion until we all gather again.
