Megan Clapp
Senior Pastor

  • As Senior Pastor, I am excited to lead Trinity's next season of ministry. My ministry is based on the strong footing of our common baptismal promises and the storytelling that is done in our worship, education, and daily lives. I think relationships are incredibly important to ministry and that Jesus calls us into life together. I love how Jesus gathers everyone to the table for nourishment and forgiveness. As I strive to follow Jesus, I try to emulate this same hospitality and welcome.

  • I was born and raised in Southeastern Wisconsin and graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. Through my summers in college I worked at Lutherdale Bible Camp as a counselor and program staff. After graduating from Augustana, I attended Luther Seminary and received my M.Div as well as completing the coursework for an MA in Children, Youth, and Family ministry. Following my time in seminary, I served congregations in the Phoenix/Mesa area, as well as Southeastern Iowa. I served most recently in Wadena, MN.

  • My husband Eric, also an ELCA pastor, and I have been married for 11 years and have two children: Lillian, who is a karaoke superstar, and Milo who is our resident dinosaur expert. In my free time, I love reading, cooking, watching documentaries, playing board & card games, and spending time with my family – preferably on a hiking trail, patio, or pontoon. It’s even better if we can do those things together on the shores of Lake Superior.

Suzie Porter

Deacon

  • I love that encouraging community is a big part of my job at Trinity.  Within my work with both youth and adults, I have the opportunity to foster connections and build small groups where relationships can form and deepen.  We all walk this journey of faith together, supporting one another and reminding one another along the way of how we are claimed, called and loved so deeply by God.

  • I attended Concordia College, where I received by BA in Elementary Education.  After some years serving in outdoor ministry and youth ministry, I knew that ministry is where I was called to be, and went on to earn my MA in Children, Youth and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary.

  • When I’m not at Trinity, I can be found sharing life with my two full of life boys, Bryce and Jackson, and our dog Mickey.  I love to spend time with family, take time to cook a good meal, hop in the car once in awhile for a long road trip, read books, and camp in my tent under the stars.

Laura Kessler
Children and Family Ministries

  • I love that I get the opportunity to work with some of the youngest at Trinity! It is a joy to walk alongside them at the beginning of their faith journey, encourage relationships with all ages and empower them in who they have been created to be: beautiful and unique Children of God.

  • I grew up in Moorhead, Minnesota. I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Religion and  Youth Ministry. I served as the Program Director for Pathways Lutheran Outdoor Ministries for seven years before moving to Associate Director.

  • I am married to Kyle and have two wonderful boys Kaleb and Kody and two pups!

  • I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being an auntie, singing, being outdoors, reading, pickles, enjoying the lakes and car washes!

Teri Buschette

Administration Secretary

  • I heard the phrase once that I should be deemed Director of First Impressions. I like to think that's just one of the many hats I wear.

  • I have been a member of Trinity since 1984 and began working as the Administrative Secretary in 2003. My secretarial journey started many years ago and eventually brought me here. Being at Trinity has been awesome, fulfilling, interesting and challenging.

  • I have 2 grown children, Jared and Travis, who are finding their own paths in life.

  • I enjoy traveling, being a mom and being a friend. I read when I have time, and am enjoying quiet times more and more.

Ann Jacobson

Visitation Pastor

  • Learning people’s stories and coming alongside them when life’s joys and challenges arise are very meaningful to me. As visitation pastor I have the privilege of supporting and accompanying people upon the journey.

  • I am also a hospice chaplain and do grief support at a funeral home in Fargo. I have been in parish ministry for over twenty years, serving 5 different churches in Minnesota and North Dakota. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and my Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN.

  • I am married to Peter and we have three children and one son-in-law.

  • I enjoy biking, hiking, yoga, cross-country skiing, coffee with friends and watching a sunset over water.

Greta Johnson
Music Director

  • I love that my position at Trinity allows me to use one of my favorite hobbies to contribute to worship.

  • I started playing piano at the age of 4 and have added several other instruments to my arsenal since then. I graduated from Concordia College with a BA in Music and from Youngstown State University with an MM in Music Performance.

  • Outside of work and playing piano, I enjoy playing saxophone and tuba in several community bands, playing softball, curling, lifting weights, crocheting, doing logic puzzles, and scheming with my nieces and nephews.

Terri Hutchinson
Bell Choir Director

  •  I am excited to be the leader of the Trinity Bell Choir. They are an amazing group of volunteers that come together each week and work hard to make wonderful music. I enjoy witnessing the progress we all make. Sharing the gift of music with the congregation is rewarding for us all.

  • I am a graduate of Concordia College and majored in classroom and instrumental music. I taught music for 5 years in Hankinson, ND, took a teaching leave to have 4 babies, then taught music at Holy Rosary School for 21 years. I have been a regular member or substitute in the Trinity bell choir since it’s beginning.

  • In my free time I enjoy camping in the Boundary Waters, spending time on the pontoon, and watching sunsets. During the cold months we spend many nights in the gym supporting high school basketball.

Tom Young
Senior Choir Director

  • There’s something really powerful that happens when a group of individuals comes
together and “thinks the same image at the same time.” That’s the joy of choral music,
and I love being part of that. Sharing this in a worship setting is even more special.

  • I grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota and received my B.S. in Music Education from
NDSU. I earned my MA in Vocal Pedagogy from UND. I was fortunate to be able to
spend spend most of my career as a high school choir director in my home town.
My wife, Lori, and I have two grown children and two grandchildren. We’re lucky to live
close enough to be able to see them often.

  • Outside of choir, I enjoy the Minnesota outdoors, reading, Twins baseball, gathering
with family, and most of all, spending retired life with my wife.

Dan Derouin

Custodian

  • I retired after 32 years from the Postal Service in Hallock, MN.  I found I needed something to fill my free time. My position as custodian at Trinity is part time and allows me flexibility to be able to do other things.  The community of Trinity offers a great work environment.

  • My wife Pat and I enjoy spending time with our 4 grown children and our grandchildren.

  • In my free time I tinker with golfing and ice fishing.  Mostly I like to be outdoors and be involved in whatever that brings.

Roger Josephson

Financial Secretary

  • I took the financial secretary position when the previous persons retired in 1995 and I needed something to do during the Sunday evening NBC newscast each week.  However, I discovered that it took more than a half hour to complete the task and then enter the members’ contributions into the computer and prepare weekly reports for the treasurer, monthly reports for the church council and quarterly and annual reports for members.  It has been twenty four years and counting of hopefully accurate records for Trinity Lutheran Church.

  • I graduated from Stillwater High School, 1959 and Gustavus Adolphus College with majors in History and Political Science, 1963.  I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Brazil, 1963-65. I worked as a Social Studies Teacher at Detroit Lakes Community High School, 1966-2001
