We are God’s hands and feet, head and heart in this world. Our Trinity family continually looks for ways to respond to needs in our community of Detroit Lakes, across the globe, and everywhere in between as we connect with neighbors near and far.
We offer service opportunities through short term projects and on-going missional needs.

Serve on Sundays & Wednesdays

There are opportunities for all ages to serve on Sunday mornings & Wednesday evenings. Whether you would like to share your gifts by serving in worship as an usher, lector, acolyte or communion assistant, or you would like to serve by providing hospitality with coffee and treats between services, there is a place for you!
Trinity Quilters

Trinity has an active and faithful quilting ministry. The group meets to assemble quilts and share life together. The 400+ quilts that are assembled each year are distributed locally to people in need, as well as globally through Lutheran World Relief. All levels of experience are welcome.

Knifty Knitters

Grab your knitting or crochet supplies, and join this group as they gather together to knit prayer shawls for those in need of comfort, support or praise.

Becker County Food Pantry

February is Trinity’s volunteer month at the food shelf, and we gather volunteers to serve together.

Habitat for Humanity

Each year, a group travels together to serve with Habitat for Humanity. We have served in Chicago and Milwaukee, and most recently have been serving with the North St. Louis County HFH in Virginia, MN. This serving experience is open to high school students (age 16+), college students, and all ages of adults. All experience is welcome.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Each November, Trinity assembles Thanksgiving Baskets for those in need of a little extra help. Trinity members can serve by donating specific food items or a monetary donation, as well as helping to assemble the boxes that are distributed a few days prior to Thanksgiving.

Global Mission Support - Rev. Chandran Paul Martin
Contact Information
Reverened Chandran Paul Martin serves as the ELCA Regional Representative for the churches in Asia and the Pacific. His primary responsibility is diakonia ministries, which includes health care, development, disaster response, and sustainable community based-development ministries with the ELCA companions in the region. Trinity Lutheran Church supports Chandran as our missionary with a goal of $50 a week as a special offering.

Christmas Giving Tree
Contact Information
Working together, Trinity provides gifts for families in need in our local community. The Christmas tree goes up mid-November in the Fellowship Hall, and individuals and families are invited to take one of the 100+ tags on the tree and shop for a gift to make someone’s Christmas a little brighter.

Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

Each December, we invite people to sign up to ring the bells at local businesses in support of the Salvation Army and the ways they serve people.

Sister Congregation Mission, India
Contact Information
Our partner in ministry across the globe is Beersheba Lutheran Church in Bhimavaram, India, which is a congregation in our sister Synod Andra Pradesh. Trinity Lutheran Church has a goal of $25 a week as a special offering to offer mission support to Beersheba Lutheran Church.
